Offshore Oil

I’ve been photographing the offshore oil industry since the late 1970’s when exploration was in its freewheeling heyday and drill ships and supply vessels filled  the harbour at St. John’s. This was when today’s producing wells, Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose and soon to be developed, Hebron, were discovered.

Working in this environment requires a strict safety regime and training, knowledge of the industry, the ability to adapt to changing conditions and logistics.  The client’s trust in you to get the job done safely and with minimal disruption to their operations is crucial. This is a small collection of that work.
