I've just updated the website with a collection of photos from a 1990 road trip through Turkey.
This photo was taken outside the mosque in Konya were a serious negotiation was taking place for this beautiful, new, handmade carpet.
I didn't buy this one. The guy bent over doing the inspection let me know he REALLY wanted this one …and, frankly, it was out of my league …not to mention having to drag it back across Turkey and to Berlin where I was working at the time before trying to get it back to Newfoundland. I settled for a smaller one which you can see in our newly renovated studio if you stop by.
