Winter is here!

…and that means shooting some ice climbing. Here is a little “Behind The Scenes” of me hanging out with Terry Day climbing “High Anxiety”, a 40 meter, WI5 with very irregular formations in Red Head Cove, Newfoundland. Needless to say that this takes a lot of planning. Not only what cameras and lenses to take but the best outdoor gear and safety equipment that will keep you warm and dry but still give you room to hike and climb in. Thanks to Trevor Wragg for the photo of us.

Climbing with Carla

The weather has been horrid in Newfoundland so far this spring and summer so we’ve taken advantage of the few nice days to get outdoors and do what we love … explore Newfoundland! I also had the unexpected pleasure of photographing my friend and excellent climber, Carla, who is back on the east coast for the summer.

Summer climbing season begins

Erinn-Climbing-Manuals-May16-2015_GSL-0030-WEBThe ever fickle spring and summer seasons of Newfoundland seem to be making a commitment for this year so the summer climbing season has begun here on the east coast. Erinn leading on The German Face, Conception bay, Newfoundland. © 2015 GREG LOCKE
