Climbing in Newfoundland is booming. From something obscure ten years ago events can now attract 150 climbers. There are hundreds of established rock, ice and bouldering routes in the province with many more potential unexplored or developed areas. The town of Flatrock, 20km north of St. John’s, is ground zero for outdoor climbing on the island with more than a hundred sport and trad climbing routes alone.
